It is an Honor...
By Marcia Beachy
It is an honor to be here.
It is a perilous, ass-kicking, wonderful honor to be on the Earth at this time.
We are called to this. We have arrived. We are taking our places and stepping into our roles. We are here to wake up and bring Light to the darkness, starting with ourselves.
For me, that means bringing the Light of consciousness to every fear that rises. It is bringing a loving energetic charge to the programming within me that believes I am anything less than a miracle of Love expressing. And it’s a full-time job. In truth, I am not guilty, condemned, lost, abandoned, betrayed or unforgiven. I am not ugly, poor, a victim or a persecutor. I may have those experiences but I am not that. They have only come so that I may find the light within them, the gift.
It is an honor to be here. At those times when I want to be done with this life, when I feel it has become too much to bear, I confront myself. I say, “Okay, what if you were to die tonight? Would you be peaceful and complete with that? Are you really all used up? Would you have explored and mastered that which you came to master—and contributed that which you came to contribute?” With that question, something invariably rises that says, “NO-O-O-O!!!” And I realize that I have not fully loved yet. I realize that there is so much beauty beneath the pain and drama. There is a clear river of unwavering grace amid the muddiness that I have yet to embrace. And there are vast mountains of creativity, courage and laughter waiting in the wings. Then I am shown visions of what is yet to be and the inestimable value of participating in what is before us.
During a recent meditation I saw the Goddess Quan Yin lift her left arm. From her hand I saw the vast cycles of time within time coming to some kind of fruition in this generation on this planet and beyond. Beautiful spirals of iridescent light flung themselves across the heavens infused with a rich and dynamic love. The entire Universe seemed to be smiling, enthralled by what is unfolding.
We are not done. I am meant to be here now. So are you.
The most powerful affirmation I receive is that we are meant to be here TOGETHER. We are not meant to be here alone, do this alone, feel alone or feel estranged from each other. We are meant to re-create community and belonging that honors the true spirit we are, not the sucking up, enduring and deadening of ourselves that comes with trying to belong within dysfunctional systems. Individually we are overwhelmed by what is before us; together, we need not be.
It is an honor to be here. It is an honor to shoulder the task of being a conduit for transformation of ancestral patterns. Sometimes I feel my grandmothers and forebears breathing through me, shouldering me as I am able to say what they couldn’t dare say—and be freely what they could not be, as a woman, as a healer, as a lover, as a friend—as an awakened sovereign being walking in the natural power of being alive and free on this planet.
A powerful awakening for me has been the great work of the Standing Rock Sioux and Lakota People. I have been following the unfolding events in North Dakota with great tenderness, often without words. One day, I watched a video and my heart leaped with an existential knowing. Let me share at bit of what I feel occurred.
In my own brand of researching consciousness, I have had some regression clients go to their pre-birth planning—the preparation time before the soul enters the baby body and this life. One client described it so beautifully. As she stood beside her guide, he showed her a map of possibilities and likelihoods of the life to come. She could briefly view what would be offered to her for the learning and service she wanted/needed. There were some nodes or junctures that were small and less significant where she might meet another person or find an opportunity arise. At other places on the map of her upcoming life were great junctures with many lines crossing at the same time, a powerful convergence of people and events that would be most significant for her—and others. A space-time, multidimensional intersection of awakening.
When we arrive at one of these nodes on our map, something clicks in—as if we are recognizing someone or something we have known, a sacred timing is occurring, a heart recognition. Something momentous has shown itself and opportunity is knocking.
This I believe, is what the Standing Rock event holds for us—a power node for the awakening of consciousness and real hope. And I noticed that with each barrage of brutality and the response of peace and prayer, the sovereign human within each rose hard-won into possibilities to come. Tribal peoples, with the Earth deep in their veins, are rising together on behalf of the planet, answering a call only they could answer—paving the way for others to follow.
I believe there will continue to be more of these powerful space-time intersections of various kinds. For example, as this writing goes live, millions of amazing women (and men) have spontaneously gathered in cities around the world, claiming their sovereignty. From my perspective, the Divine Feminine is rising, roaring forth from deep caves of silence into the light of a long-awaited new day, new era.
Each time I am paying attention, each time I feel that knowing in my heart, each time I am awed by it all, I return to the way in which it is an honor to be here.
